The region's port sector is directly linked to significant events in Brazilian history, and in observance of Foreign Trade Day (January 28th) and its historical context, the Industry and Port Meeting spoke with Antônio Carlos Fonseca Cristiano, known as Caio, president of Marimex. In return, the English demanded the opening of Brazilian ports to foreign trade, boosting the local economy and preparing the country for its future independence.
